What is Viet food?
Phô, Báhn mí, or even Báhn Xéo are just a few of the popular Vietnamese foods you may encounter in many restaurants. One of the most popular cuisines and believed to be one of the best in the world, Viet food has given its love to people around the world, especially me. As a Viet, I’ve always appreciated its diversity with flavors bursting in every bite. But don’t just take my word for it.
How Viet food came to Philly
As said before, Vietnamese food is worldwide with specific parts dedicated to its culture and cuisine, such as Little Saigon in California or Houston, Texas, both having a huge Vietnamese representation and population respectively. Philly is no different with restaurants everywhere introducing the cuisine to the city. Some notable restaurants in Philly include Phô Ha Saigon, Ba Le, Phô 75, and Café Diem. These are just a select few of the restaurants but there are many more in different parts of the city that have their specialty and offer their own unique taste in the cuisine.
Diving deeper
Most Vietnamese food can be eaten at all times throughout the day. One example of this is Báhn mí, which can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner or even a quick snack if you are hungry. The cuisine can either feel heavy on you such as Bo Kho or light such as Coi Cuon. Moving away from the main part of the cuisine and going over to the drinks and dessert, Cá Phê or Vietnamese coffee is recognized as one of the best in the world. Its unique taste comes from its brewing and the condensed milk that is a part of it adds to it even more. Dessert is another huge part of the cuisine with many sweet and savory ones, such as Chè Ba Màu, a three-color dessert that offers three levels of taste to the mouth giving you one of the best experiences. As you can see, Vietnamese cuisine can range from anywhere and still keep its authentic and tasty flavor throughout.
Closing
The cuisine offers unique flavors, new tastes, revolutionary desserts, and one of the best coffee and sandwiches. The cuisine covers every aspect of what a cuisine is meant to be and offers a lot. If you haven’t the cuisine yet, I would like to recommend everyone reading this to find some time to go try some of its unique dishes. Trust me, you’ll love it. You’ll never know, you might just find your next craving and a new love.
