Tea made with basil leaves comes to your rescue whenever common cold symptoms start showing up. Tear up some basil leaves and put it in a saucepan filled with water, let the water boil and rest until the water reaches lukewarm level. Then you can strain away the leaves and add honey or rock sugar to add flavour. Adding ginger with the basil will make the tea stronger and will help cure the cold faster! Basil can also be eaten raw, just wash it and chew if you like. Its medicinal properties will keep coughs and colds at bay. Basil also helps in lowering blood pressure levels, and contains magnesium which improves blood flow. Basil is great for girls in general as magnesium helps in preventing period pain. Tea with honey and basil is great for preventing menstrual cramps, and restoring magnesium levels.
